What We Offer
KWY provide a cultural reunification service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal people) parents who have children in the care of the Department for Child Protection (DCP). KWY supports and accompany parents to navigate the child protection and legal systems including attendance to DCP meetings and Reunification Courts of SA.
KWY assist parents to develop their parenting and protective capacity in collaboration with the parents, DCP case management team and service providers. KWY can make referrals and support the parents to meet the objectives of the parents' Reunification Case Plan.
Reunification of children and parents can be viable when parents demonstrate capacity for significant change (engage with services) and sustainable change throughout the reunification period (approx. 12 months).
KWY use cultural values, belief structures, kinship networks to help families achieve reunification with their children.
Eligibility
