Trauma-Informed Practice for the Domestic, Aboriginal Family & Sexual Violence Sector

 

Creating a safe, respectful, and open space is key to this training. The facilitator brings lived experience and deep practice knowledge, along with a strong understanding of both National and State frameworks, policies, and the ongoing push to end violence against women and children.

This workshop will focus on understanding trauma-informed practice when working with people who are currently or have experienced domestic violence, Aboriginal family violence, and sexual violence. We’ll explore your existing knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and discuss how these principles apply when working with men, women, children, and other priority groups.

We’ll also take a holistic look at how to approach this work, considering all aspects of your role. Some of the key areas we’ll cover include:
