The Child and Youth Practitioner plays a key role in providing intensive, therapeutic and culturally grounded case management support to Aboriginal children and youth in the program. Working in partnership with the family, the practitioner offers advocacy, cultural support, risk assessment, safety planning, and healing-focused interventions to strengthen family functioning.

This position is offered as a fixed-term appointment for a duration of six (6) months. At the conclusion of this initial term, the organisation may, at its discretion, consider an extension of employment. Any such extension would be contingent upon the candidate’s demonstrated performance and may involve placement within another team of the organisation. Continuation beyond the initial term is not guaranteed and shall be subject to mutual agreement and organisational requirements.

The Reintegration Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the primary needs of participants accessing the service are determined via a comprehensive assessment which includes a safety risk assessment. In collaboration with participants, individual identified needs form the basis of a comprehensive case plan which incorporates short- and long-term goals. The case plan will also identify individual roles, responsibilities, and timelines.

The Reintegration Specialist provides assessment, case planning, referral to appropriate services, both in-house and external, advocacy, goal setting and prioritising tasks, utilising the organisational overarching service model, incorporating the Good Lives Model, Restorative Justice Principles and Desistence in Reintegration into the daily activities and tasks with participants.

The Reintegration Specialist is expected to develop effective working relationships with other OARS CT services/staff, departments, agencies, service providers and specifically the Department for Correctional Services, Workskil, NINI and SA Housing Trust, and non-government and government agencies.

Kornar Winmil Yunti Aboriginal Corporation (KWY) is seeking passionate and culturally aware Facilitators to deliver foundational English language, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy (LLND) training to First Nations participants in metropolitan Adelaide. This role is part of the federally funded SEE First Nations Delivery Grant initiative aimed at removing barriers to education and supporting Closing the Gap outcomes. 2-year contract.

The successful applicant will possess skills, experience, and knowledge in working with Aboriginal people to address Child Protection and Domestic and Family Violence concerns. The applicant will operate within a therapeutic, trauma-informed framework. The applicant would have demonstrated knowledge of case management and working with Aboriginal families. 

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is an international program operating in several different countries including the USA, Canada and New Zealand. The Brotherhood of St Laurence holds the licence to deliver HIPPY in Australia and there are currently 100 HIPPY sites across Australia.

Peer Workers draw on their lived experience of navigating financial hardship to authentically connect with clients experiencing hardship, sharing their personal knowledge and insights to where it may be of benefit to clients. This role is for 0.5 FTE / 38 hours per fortnight. 2 years contract.

Working under the guidance of a Linker, Peer Workers provide practical, emotional and social support to clients by listening, and offering their knowledge and experiences where appropriate to the client’s situation and needs. This might include accompanying a client for the first time attending a service or community event, advocating alongside a client, being with a client as they make calls, and researching and assisting clients to find services and other supports.
