The Mens Practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of the KWY My Spirit 22-session men’s behaviour change program grounded in cultural healing. In addition, the Mens Practitioner will be required to provide one-on-one support to clients while engaged in the group work program. The program is specifically designed to address men’s use of violence using healing, community and connectedness while taking proactive measures in confronting the challenges experienced by Aboriginal males within the context of the justice system, domestic violence, trauma and wellbeing, highlighting the significance in terms of disengagement from community, country, and self.

 

Through Growing Our Spirit, men are empowered to reconnect with their culture, fostering a sense of identity, acceptance, belonging to family and culture. This is achieved through deeply embedding cultural values, traditions, and practices into the sessions, it aims to facilitate lasting behavioural changes and positive life transformations.

The Senior Policy Officer/Specialist provides leadership and high-level advice on quality assurance, risk, WHS, and compliance matters, and supports organisational capability through robust policy development, knowledge management, and continuous improvement processes. A key component of the role is the supervision and mentoring of a Policy Officer in the Team.
 

 

You will work closely with the Executive and Senior Management Teams to ensure that KWY’s practice frameworks, internal systems, and strategic positioning are informed by strong policy foundations, research, and evidence base grounded in Aboriginal-led practice and trauma-informed care.

The KWY Family Practitioner is responsible for the implementation and support of the parents, children, young people, and extended family members in the Safe Families Strong Communities (SFSC) program. The SFSC program provides support to parents of children, youth and their families who are at risk of being involved with child protection by providing peer-facilitated group sessions, with case management support provided in the background.

SFSC is a comprehensive support program designed to assist parents, children, youth, and their families who face the risk of child protection involvement. It operates through peer-facilitated group sessions, empowering families with the tools to make positive changes in their lives.

KWY is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Research and Innovation to lead and grow our research, evaluation, and innovation portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of professionals delivering high-impact projects that align with KWY’s vision to strengthen the safety, wellbeing, and self-determination of Aboriginal families and communities. Full time or part time hours (negotiable).

This is a new and unique leadership role focused on driving applied research and innovation, grounded in lived experience and Aboriginal-led methodologies. You will oversee a portfolio of research and evaluation initiatives, including a flagship lived experience child protection project, Wito Willo. Your work will influence practice, policy, and service design, ensuring the voices of Aboriginal children, families and communities are central to system reform.

 

The Senior Project Officer is a key role within KWY, responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of strategic and operational projects across the organisation. This includes leading tender and grant writing processes, contributing to program design and implementation, and supporting system and process development to strengthen KWY’s service delivery and impact. The contract could be full time or part time (negotiable).

The Senior Project Officer works collaboratively within a high-performing team that drives innovation, growth, and quality improvement across KWY. The role requires strong administrative, strategic, and technical capabilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with KWY’s values and objectives.

KWY is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Researcher to support a ground-breaking initiative that will develop a best-practice model for transitioning child and family services to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs). This co-design research project will work with key NGO and ACCO providers—to ensure future service transitions are community-led, culturally safe, and effective.

The Senior Researcher will work as part of KWY’s Research and Innovation team and contribute to all stages of the project including co-design facilitation, desktop research, pilot evaluation, data collection, and analysis. The role will also support the development of tailored transition plans, operational readiness documentation, and the final best-practice model.

 

The YERTA Practitioner works alongside the family, school, and community to identify cultural safe ways and long-term cultural solutions to increase and sustain school attendance. The Practitioner is guided by the voice and decisions of the family and school that overcome barriers to school attendance. The Practitioner provides outreach support to the whole family in the home, school, and community. Practitioners will offer cultural support, therapeutic support, case management, advocacy, referrals, and education. 12 Months Contract.

​The successful applicant will possess skills, experience and knowledge in complex case management and work through a trauma-based lens. The Practitioner has experience working with Aboriginal families and their communities.

​

The Child Development Practitioner is part of the Building up Bubs (BuBs) team responsible for engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents/caregivers of Aboriginal children 0-5 years, for the purpose of conducting child development screenings utilising the validated Ages and Stages Questionnaire – Talking About Raising Aboriginal Kids (ASQ-TRAK) developmental screening tool. The Child Development Practitioner supports parents and caregivers by working together to set goals, develop case plans to address the child’s developmental needs, facilitate referrals to support services, provide advocacy when required and practical outreach support. 12 Months Contract.

The Child Development Practitioner is a culturally responsive, highly experienced and competent practitioner, dedicated to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

communities, building trusting relationships with families, conducting child development screenings and supporting families to access appropriate services and referrals.
